Ok. You might be thinking.. soak in the tub? That's a ritual? Well... if it works for you- it can be!!
I dunno what it is about soaking in the tub... maybe its the feeling of being pampered that makes it feel so good, or perhaps its that water is the element associated with emotion so, immersing yourself in it helps to get your emotions flowing… what I do know is taking the time to soak in the tub can be a wonderful way to relax and drown your sorrows.
Here's some of the things you can use to make it a spa-like experience:
- Candles: Turn off the lights and light candles around the tub or bathroom. (careful to place them far from the shower curtain)
- Bath Foam: To uplift the senses, and make it a bubbly bath time experience.
- CD Player/iPod: Play music to suit your mood.
Suggestions: Sometimes I wanna feel uplifted so I play gospel tunes, other times I wanna have a good cry so I play slow jams about lost love. Other times I forego music all together and play an audio book.
- A cold drink:
Suggestions: I like the water in tub as hot as I can take it, and cold drink to sip on while I'm in there. Fruity soda water over fresh berries in a fancy glass really makes me feel pampered. Other times, a can of 5-Alive does the trick just fine.
- Body Cream/moisturizer
- Fluffy towels:
Suggestions: I like to have big, fluffy towels for when I get out. The closer I can get ‘em to blanket size the better!
PJ's: Warm pajamas fresh out of the dryer. Ahhhhhh....
